Project Overview.
With Fixitfaster pivoting and about to start heavily investing in their marketing strategy they needed a brand refresh and re-designed website to stand out in the busy home services space.
My Role.
I led the redesign of Fixitfaster as the sole designer. I was responsible for carrying out all branding, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, user testing & visual design. I worked closely with the relevant stakeholders & development teams through this project.
The Problem.
The key issue was that Fixitfaster had an identity crisis. As you can see from the original style guide below it was a complete swath of colours and text styles that did not compliment one another. There was no clear voice & tone and the copy contained too many insider phrases (i.e. ‘finders’ & ‘fixers’) which new users didn’t understand. There were also numerous UX issues on the original website. Most of these stemmed from Info architecture issues.
